During my Ph.D. in
physics, I worked at
Rutgers University on the High
Resolution Fly's Eye
Experiment (HiRes), i.e. in the field of
astroparticle physics.
The HiRes
experiment has
measured the energy spectrum, composition, and arrival directions of
the
most energetic cosmic ray particles. In January 2005, I joined the
Pierre Auger Collaboration as a post-doc. The Pierre Auger
Observatory
is a cosmic ray detector that combines the Air Fluorescence Technique
used in
HiRes
with a large array
of surface detectors to observe ultra-high energy cosmic rays in hybrid
mode. In 2007, I have joined the H.E.S.S.
Collaboration
to study extragalactic sources of gamma rays (and maybe cosmic
rays...?). I am currently working as a Maître de
Conférence (researcher/lecturer) at the Observatoire de Paris at Meudon
in the LUTH
laboratory.

The Pierre Auger Observatory has found a correlation of UHE cosmic rays with Active Galactic Nuclei.
HiRes has observed the GZK CUTOFF in the ultra-high energy cosmic ray spectrum H.E.S.S. has received the European DESCARTES PRIZE
Check out David Marin's webpage, if you want to see (and hear!) something really interesting: PAJAROJAGUAR And here is the webpage of another artist that I highly recommend: VERY FINA ART |
