Instrumentation in High Energy Astrophysics

This course is based mainly on the first volume of "High Energy Astrophysics" by Malcolm S. Longair.
Chapter 1 gives a broad and very incomplete introduction into high energy physics and points out connections to cosmic ray and
astrophysics. Chapter 2 and 3 treat interactions between high energy particles and matter, as well as between high energy photons
and matter. Some basic detector designs are introduced. The remaining chapters (4-7) take a closer look at some experiments/projects
in X-ray, Gamma-ray, cosmic ray and neutrino physics. Detection methods are discussed in detail in each case.

The slides below in .odp (open office format) and .pdf format are continuously being updated. I would be thankful for any help
in pointing out errors or points that are not clear.

Si vous cherchez une introduction plus profonde dans la relativité restreinte, il y a les notes de J.L. Bobin sur le Web, qui me semblent 
très bien (et qui sont en français). Une lecture par ex. de son chapitre 2 donne déjà une très bonne idée de la théorie.
