Our working group has
been founded in 2008 between scientists working on Very High Energy
(VHE) Gamma-Ray Astrophysics, Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Ray (UHECR)
Physics
and Neutrino Astrophysics. We are interested in models describing the
emission of cosmic rays, gamma rays and neutrinos from Active Galactic
Nuclei (AGN), their verification against existing data, and predictions
for future experiments.
The principal questions we are interested in are:
Can we, based on current or
planned experiments, confirm or rule out (classes of) AGN as sources of
UHECR (and neutrinos) ?
What can we learn about emission processes from combining data of our
fields
and comparing them to model predictions ?
Our goals are:
- Opening a dialogue between the VHE gamma-ray, UHECR and
Neutrino astrophysics communities.
- Learning about scenarios of hadronic emission for AGN in a
dialogue with experts on this topic.
- Deriving possible constraints from the most recent data in
our fields against the model predicitions.
- Making predictions for constraints to expect from future
experiments (CTA, Auger North, KM3NeT...)
You can find the proposals and activity reports of our group in the
Links & Documents section (sorry, these documents are only in French).
